Spanish Preschool and Kindergarten Program

The Spanish Immersion Preschool at Lowcountry Language Academy is inspired by Reggio Emilia's approach to education. Our  teachers incorporate science, technology,  engineering, art and math (S.T.E.A.M) in their classes.    We emphasize learning through exploration, and language immersion in a creative environment.  All hands-on activities are designed to cultivate a higher level of thinking, while increasing confidence and creativity. Registration 2018-2019

Our project-based program fosters your child's growth throughout all developmental domains—physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and artistic. The Spanish Immersion Preschool encourages students to explore various centers promoting arts, literacy, maths-sciences, and motor skills while learning Spanish in a meaningful way. At the end of the year you will receive a beautiful book with all the artwork your child has completed.

Our daily schedule ensures a balance between teacher-guided activities and individual exploration. Our passionate teachers incorporate the Spanish language and culture with your children's interests through fun and engaging hands-on activities.

We offer opportunities for children of all ages to learn according to their unique learning styles and level of understanding.  We welcome children from 3 to 5  years old to learn together, creating interrelation between older and younger children. This type of atmosphere allows for both younger and older children to not only work together, but learn from one another. Currently, Lowcountry Language Spanish Immersion Preschool offers a three days a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) program, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.  We offer after-school enrichment classes after regular school hours. Lowcountry Language Academy will largely follow the calendar of the Charleston County School District.

Lowcountry Language Academy is located at Coastal Christian Preparatory School.  We are independent from the school but we follow the same rules and regulations. We are fortunate to be associate with CCPS.  We could not ask for a better location, nurturing environment, and beautiful landscape.  Our academy is conveniently situated in the heart of Old Mount Pleasant at 681 McCants Drive, Mount Pleasant, SC 2946 Registration 2018-2019

Nature walks are highly valued at Lowcountry Language Academy Spanish Immersion Preschool.  Our nature walks allow your child to experience the environment around them and explore their senses. We collect natural and interesting materials that students study, sort, count, and explore.

Cooking

One of our students’ favorite activities is exploring Latin and Spanish cuisine through cooking.  We introduce the children to science and chemistry while mixing and measuring ingredients.

Snack Time

Lowcountry Language Academy students participate in the preparation and serving at snack time. Students assist the teacher in preparing healthy, NON-GMO snacks. Snack is a social time for the class, which offers the opportunity to reinforce the Spanish language and table manners.
