About the Director

Tania Schettini, Founder & Director

Tania Schettini was born and raised in Colombia, South America, where she earned her degree in Social Communication and Journalism. Her early career included work in radio journalism and television media, experiences that strengthened her passion for communication, language, and cultural connection.

After relocating to the United States, Tania pursued her dedication to education by earning her Spanish K–12 Teaching Certification from Wake Forest University. She has taught Spanish in both public and private school settings, including respected institutions in North Carolina and Charleston, such as Porter-Gaud School, University School of the Lowcountry, and Cooper School.

Her years of classroom experience, combined with her international background, inspired her to found Lowcountry Language Academy (LLA) — a language enrichment program designed to provide structured Spanish immersion and cultural education in a nurturing and academically focused environment.

In addition to her work in education, Tania co-founded Cleats for a Cause, a family-led charitable initiative that collects gently used soccer cleats to support children in underserved communities locally and internationally.

Tania and her family have lived in the Lowcountry for over 22 years. She continues to be deeply committed to fostering global awareness and meaningful communication through language education. In April 2026, she looks forward to beginning a new chapter as a grandmother — a role that further deepens her passion for children and education.
