Home-School-Student-Doing-Art

We offer After school and home-school Spanish enrichment classes, grades K-5,  Lowcountry Language Academy immerse students in the Spanish language and culture through a variety of games, crafts, roles, creative movement, playing, cooking, songs, reading, and videos, which highlight the wonders of the Spanish world. We encourage collaboration and cooperation among our students to develop communication and language skills. Activities are planned to ensure that students have the opportunity to use the language individually, as well as in small groups.

To learn a new language, students must embrace the Spanish language and explore the culture.  Thomasoulas (2001) suggests that culture and communication are inseparable because "culture not only dictates who talks to whom about what, and how the communication proceeds, it also helps to determinate hoe people encode message  the meaning they have for messages, and the conditions and circumstances under which various messages may or may not be sent, noticed, or interpreted"

Students listen to the Spanish language during classes, which helps them acquire correct pronunciation and learn vocabulary; repetition is critical to the process of learning a second language. New vocabulary is introduced and practiced in many ways to develop increased understanding. Classes are planned in response to various learning styles. We vary activities in each class to better develop each learner’s skill sets.

We are adding classes per parents request. Please contact us if you don't see a class that fits your schedule.
